What Meditation Is Not
I had an insightful dream a few nights ago, where I was given an ancient ceramic pot/vase as a gift. Inside this vase was a document explaining affirmations and meditation in a way I hadn’t considered. At the time, of course, I didn’t remember what it said upon waking up, so I had to do another Q&A session with my spirit guides to get some details. Here is how the discussion transpired.
Should we start with the ceramic pot dream or something else?
Dream. The dream was an illustration of what really transpired but put in a way (images) that the brain could comprehend and store into memory, which helps conscious growth. There are no real sounds in dreams because the vibrational frequency of sounds on Earth is too heavy for where we go. Dreams show us where we go/do when we are asleep, can be a reflection of our souls/subconscious, a place to process things and often the weirdest [dreams] are strife with symbols.
What did this document say?
Affirmations that are lightest in weight are best. They're more believable and they have to come from a calm heart. It's the trifecta of alignment: (positive) words, (a light) heart, and (a calm) mind. Words represent the physical. The body must be light and not burdened. It’s best to start when you are in a good place to implant on the mind and subconscious. The superconscious/higher self already knows [all the good you want to be, have, do]. It's fine to use affirmations during hard times but it's harder to believe them then, and the trifecta is often out of alignment. It’s best to rest and get to a calm place for at least half a day before starting affirmations again.
So I shouldn't use it for, let’s say, a job?
You would be coming from a place of lack of job - your body has a tiny bit of resistance to it. When you see the sun shine in the morning and can look at it with adoration, that's when affirmations are most potent. Affirmations are an affirming of triple alignment. Really there is two (physical and non-physical) but there are three observable: body, mind and spirit. When one [affirmation] feels off (in the body) or feels forced (on the mind) then you're out of alignment. This can, however, show you where your core beliefs are negative.
What did the document say about meditation?
Sitting cross-legged is best to keep alertness. Meditation often makes people fall asleep but instead should be inducing alertness. Alertness in the sense of being aware - aware of every sound, movement, feeling, etc. in the present moment. It does not mean anger when someone interrupts. It means being so presently aware that their voice sounds anew. It's good for posture too. Alertness is not in fear but in presence. Meditation teaches you that you're an energetic being. It improves your senses, especially psychic, because you are in presence. It's not about shoving the mind away, it's about altering focus to the presence (and all that accompanies it) to the extent that the mind is observing rather than chattering. As soon as it goes into chattering, the meditation has ended and judgment has begun. When meditation brings you to presence, the mind is "waiting" for the senses to observe, feel, interpret, and hear from beyond the 5 senses. This is where psychic abilities lie. Meditation has changed from its original roots to a relaxation tool, which isn't wrong, but it's erasing the essence of meditation.
[keeps getting directed to look up the definition of meditate]
The definition says to train, calm or empty the mind by focusing on a single object. Is that wrong?
That isn't right. It is to focus/be in presence, in a state of observance, and the calm mind is a byproduct. You cannot empty the mind for nothing is stored in the mind but in memory, and the only thing mind can do is remember the past or imagine the future. When you’re in presence, nothing is present in the mind so no emptying is needed. Some say that the mind doesn't exist in the presence but it's really in a receptive mode rather than a do-er mode.
Can you elaborate on the ancient practices?
[Keeps seeing a large clay or stone pot being moved in a circular motion with a stone in it causing a circular rhythm]
The rhythm was used to bring people in a trance-like place in presence. Whenever you stare off and are not thinking and feel like you're in a trance, it's a type of meditation but less trance is better because people can sometimes go too far and lose conscious of the presence and lose the ability to observe. There's no importance to remembering the rituals specifically, it's just a reminder of how rhythmic sounds can help.
How does this tie to the body and health?
It (meditation) gives the cells and body a break from the mind, which is even better for people that consistently think negatively.
It connects the body directly to source. It's always connected but the stream is now unobstructed which is pertinent for healing.
It’s here that people receive answers and guidance - it's their best chance at hearing or seeing.
It’s the best place and chance for your preferred reality (of anything, not just healing) to flow into life.
Meditation can be done anywhere. It is more of a state of being than a do-ing.
What does presence feel like?
For those not used to it, it may feel scary because it feels like complete vulnerability. You will have sudden alertness and may feel like you're waking up for the first time and actually *seeing*. Colors appear brighter, bolder and more saturated. Sounds may either seem louder or the silence is louder if you live somewhere with constant noise. There's a calmness and strength, and you're watching and observing rather than reacting.
